It’s grape harvest time at Fattoria Villa Acquaviva!
Everything is ready and the most exciting time of the year for wine lovers, and many others, has arrived.
The ripe, sweet and succulent grape clusters and the smell of must that spreads throughout the estate are just a taste of what awaits you in this inebriating month of September, in Maremma. Like every year, this period makes everything more bucolic and joyous. In fact, it’s right in this month that all of Maremma gets ready to celebrate the grape harvest and wine.
Our estate participates in the ‘Cantine Aperte in Maremma’ event (Open Cellars in Maremma) held on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of September. This event is organized by the Wine Tourism Movement of Tuscany and allows guests to visit the estate with a walk through the vineyards and a visit to the cellar where you can try the must from the recently harvested grapes. All this for just 10 euros, which also includes the tasting of two wines in our wineshop. More information will be available soon on our Facebook page Villa Acquaviva Winery. In the surrounding area many of the medieval villages are also preparing to host their ‘Festa delle Cantine’ (Wine Cellar Parties). Here are the main dates not to be missed:

Manciano from the 9th to the 11th of September
Like clockwork, even this year the 22nd Wine Cellar Party of Manciano is back. Three intense days which pack the historic centre of the town. The town’s evocative cellars reopen and you’ll be able to try some good local dishes and wine.

Scansano from the 24th to the 26th of September
The town’s historic cellars will be opened by the local associations inaugurating the 48th edition of the popular Scansano Grape Party. The streets of the historic centre will be awash with music, celebration and joyous fun.
So, what are you waiting for? Organize a get away in September and together with the heady discovery of the local grape harvest and Maremma wines, you can also enjoy moments of relaxation with a dip in the Terme di Saturnia hot springs.
